Classroom Management Case Study -

Jeff and Tim are in a low level algebra 1 class. Both are classified as having a social emotional disturbance that interferes with their education so they have IEPs. Both make comments to each other that are usually kidding in nature but often result in more serious interaction with bad feelings. Sometimes they simply react to the comments of the other even if the comment was not directed towards them.

Generate a classroom management profile to help them.  Identify strategies you would use for prevention, intervention and remediation.

  1. plan initially to keep the two students reasonably far apart to remove frequency of comments. Reward good behavior with positive support/prizes where appropriate.
